Overview
The 21st Annual Family Medicine Update brings the family medicine community together for a 3-day infusion of what’s new in primary care. Day One features the Tobacco and Disease Preconference on Thursday, October 26, and combined with Day 2 and 3, this conference offers almost 22 hours of content. Primary care physicians and residents, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, physical therapists and respiratory therapists will benefit. Our goal is that you will be able to use this content in your practice the next day. Our learning objectives are to define the newest methods for screening and diagnosing conditions and diseases seen in primary care, describe the latest pharmacology therapies for treating and managing health conditions and identify effective methods for smoking cessation and barriers.

Objectives
  1. Utilize educational opportunities which offer a concentrated learning event, with topics related to patient management, screening and treatment topics, incorporating all age groups.
  2. Identify learning opportunities which offer up-to-date educational topics related to new drug therapies and vaccination regimens for patients of all ages.
  3. Select resources and healthcare providers in their community who can assist in developing an effective plan for their patients in achieving tobacco cessation.
