Overview

This conference is designed to provide updates on the most current evidence-based standards and research on geriatric medicine and long-term care management.

Objectives

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

AMA Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 22.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)

These knowledge based activities will provide pharmacists up to 22.5 contact hours or 2.25 CEU.  CE credit information, based on verification of live attendance and completion of the program evaluation, will be provided to NABP within 60 days after the activity completion.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 22.5 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.

Social Workers

The Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board accepts “cross disciplinary offerings from medicine, law, administration, education and the behavioral sciences if they are clearly related to the enhancement of social work practices, values, skills and knowledge.” It is the licensee’s responsibility, using professional judgment, to determine which educational activities are applicable and appropriate to his/her professional development as a social worker.

Long-Term Care and Nursing Home Administrators

This program has been approved for 22.5 continuing education hours by the Arkansas Department of Human Services Office of Long Term Care. Approval ID# AR 6937-UAMS18-22.50

Dietitians

Continuing education credits for dietitians applied for through the Arkansas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES)

Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) applied for through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc (NCHEC).
