The 23rd Annual Diabetes Update Symposium is designed to improve the ability of healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals around the state of Arkansas to provide evidence-based strategies for the prevention and management of diabetes and obesity in pediatric and adult patient populations.  The 2018 activity will update participants on best practices to transform diabetes care.

AMA Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)

These knowledge based activities will provide pharmacists up to 10.25 contact hours or 1.075 CEU.  CE credit information, based on verification of live attendance and completion of the program evaluation, will be provided to NABP within 60 days after the activity completion.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.75 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.

Registered Dietitians

This program has been approved for 11.00 contact hours of continuing education for dietitians by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES)

Sponsored by the UAMS Office of Continuing Education, a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.  This program is designated for Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) to receive up to 11 total Category I continuing education contact hours.
