Overview


Objectives
  1. Discuss the difficulties in treating chronic pain patients.
  2. Discuss the current opioid epidemic in Arkansas.
  3. Review the current statistics of opiate use in the state of Arkansas and around the nation.
  4. Analyze basic practice solutions to improving pain management without opiates in your office.
  5. Discuss alternatives to opioid therapy in chronic pain management.
  6. Discuss the effectiveness of effectiveness acupuncture and other alternative treatment methods.

Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)

These knowledge based activities will provide pharmacists up to 8.0 contact hours or 0.8 CEU.  CE credit information, based on verification of live attendance and completion of the program evaluation, will be provided to NABP within 60 days after the activity completion. 

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

The University of Arkansas for Medical sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.0 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.
