Overview

This symposium is designed for physicians, registered nurses, social workers, respiratory therapists, and other allied health care professionals who care for potential DCD patients.  This one day meeting encompasses topics directly related to ventilated patients whom end-of-life care is being considered and organ donation is an option.  Participants will be able to describe how DCD is an additional element in end-of-life decisions, ethical implications, and apply learned skills to clinical practice to optimize the potential of organ donation.

  3. Describe Best Practices for preserving the option of donation and care of potential DCD patients.
