Overview
Designed for healthcare professionals throughout the Southeastern United States, this meeting will provide education for 200-250 attendees regarding advances in pediatric cardiac care including regionalization of care; advanced imaging and the use of 3-D printing to plan surgical care; advances in treatment of pulmonary hypertension; and the role of genetics in congenital heart disease. The target audience includes physicians (cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and pediatricians), advanced practice providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, sonographers, trainees, and other allied health providers.

Objectives
  1. Identify opportunities for regionalization of pediatric cardiology care to improve timely identification and management of congenital heart disease.
  2. Describe recent advances in treatment of pediatric pulmonary hypertension with and without associated congenital heart disease.
  3. Describe the use of advanced imaging (CT / MRI) in the evaluation of complex congenital heart disease and the application of 3-D printing for surgical planning.
  4. Describe recent advances in understanding of the role of genetics in congenital heart disease.
