21st Annual Geriatrics and Long-Term Care Update

The 21st Annual Geriatrics and Long-Term Care Conference is an interprofessional educational activity designed to provide the latest updates on the most current evidence-based standards and research in geriatric medicine and long-term care management.

1. Identify common health conditions in the geriatric population.
2. Discuss the role of nutrition in the geriatric population.
3. Discuss changes in healthcare and the impact on the elderly.
4. Identify issues and best practices in Long Term Care.
5. Discuss new medications and the concerns with some older medications.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 23.5 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.

AAPA Designation Statement

The Arkansas Department of Human Services Office of Long Term Care has approved this program for 23.5 continuing education hours.

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®)

Sponsored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine, a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. This program is designed for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) to receive up to 23.5 total entry-level Category 1 continuing education contact hours.

Dietitians

This program has been approved for 23.5 continuing education hours for dietitians by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
