Overview
The Arkansas Trauma Rehabilitation Mini Symposium is a virtual half-day event curated by members of The Arkansas Trauma Rehabilitation Program and the UAMS Institute for Digital Health & Innovation. Our expected audience consists of an estimated 250 healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, nurses, social workers, and case management specialists. Our goal is to unite bright minds to empower healthcare providers and improve outcomes of traumatic survivors in an environment that fosters learning, inspiration, and wonder.

Objectives
  1. Discuss strategies to improve function and independence.
  2. Identify resources available for spinal cord, traumatic brain and amputation injuries.
  3. Discuss the latest treatments available for spinal cord, traumatic brain and amputation injuries.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

Physicians
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Physician Assistants
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 4.25 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Nurses
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.25 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.


Pharmacists

These knowledge-based activities will provide pharmacists up to 4.25 contact hours or .42 CEU.  CE credit information, based on verification of live attendance and completion of the program evaluation, will be provided to NABP within 60 days after the activity completion.


Certified Rehabilitation Counselors

This program has been pre-approved by The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) to provide continuing education credit to certified rehabilitation counselors.  This course has been approved for 3.00 CE contact hours.

This program has been pre-approved by The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) to provide Ethics continuing education credit to certified rehabilitation counselors.  This course has been approved for 1.00 CE contact hours.

Physical Therapists
The Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy does not pre-approve continuing education programs.  Initial determination of appropriate continuing education is the responsibility of the licensee.   

Case Managers
This program has been submitted to The Commission for Case Manager Certification for approval to provide board-certified case managers with 3.00 General contact hour(s) and 1.00 Ethics CE contact hours.
