Improving Emergency Department Flow for People with Behavioral Health Problems

This is a one day seminar for people involved in providing care for people in behavioral health crises, especially associated with hospitals and similar care organizations

1. to identify the segments of the system of care and describe ways to create new linkages and processes for modifying the system to improve flow and enhance recovery
2. to identify new ways to enhance the throughput of emergency departments
3. to identify legal issues in emergency care and ways to avoid them
4. to identify issues of culture and staff burnout in their workplace and know how to change the culture, and establish methods for addressing fatigue and burnout
