This is the 2024 Annual meeting of the Society for Inherited Metabolic Disorders. This meeting bring together physicians, researchers, laboratory directors, metabolic dieticians, genetic counselors, advanced practice nurses and other professionals. The object is to update medical knowledge in diagnosis and treatment of patients with inborn errors of metabolism. This meeting is also an important opportunity to mentor our trainees.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 17.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ANCC Credit Designation Statement
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 17.5 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.


Objectives
  1. Recognize new disorders, differentiate between overlapping biochemical and clinical presentations and apply an informed and culturally competent care for patients with inborn errors of metabolism.
  2. Develop a management plan for a patient with an inborn error of metabolism, including diagnostic methods and treatments that are investigational.
  3. Explain ongoing challenges with access to care and generating evidence-based new therapies for patients with inborn errors of metabolism.
