Overview

We will spend two mornings at the Embassy Suites in lovely Hot Springs, Arkansas, where we will discuss several infectious disease topics pertinent to general practice here in our region. We will have interactive discussions on items ranging from tuberculosis, animal bites, group A strep, and malaria. We will even have a panel discussion on post-infectious syndromes such as long COVID and chronic fatigue. Attendees will have a chance to meet the pediatric infectious disease team at Arkansas Children's, as well as some of our other team members and an internationally renowned speaker.

AMA Credit Designation Statement
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ACPE Credit Designation Statement
These knowledge-based activities will provide pharmacists up to 7.5 contact hours or 0.75 CEU.  CE credit information, based on verification of live attendance and completion of the program evaluation, will be provided to NABP within 60 days after the activity completion. 

ANCC Credit Designation Statement
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.5 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.

AAPA Credit Designation Statement
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 7.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

MOC Statement
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 7.5 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.  It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.


Objectives
  1. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to advise caregivers on the benefits of the RSV vaccine
  2. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to evaluate and treat patients with suspected tuberculosis, with suspected group a strep and who have sustained an animal bite.
  3. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to evaluate an immunocompromised patient who presents with a fever.
