Overview

This is an annual conference held at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute in Morrilton, AR. It is for Preceptors who take UAMS students and to provide them with 4 hours of Live CE hours. This conference will include topics on Continuing Professional Development, and Professional Identify Formation (how to guide students to thinking, acting, and feeling like a future pharmacist).

ACPE Credit Designation Statement

These knowledge-based activities will provide pharmacists up to 4.75 contact hours or 0.475 CEU.  CE credit information, based on verification of live attendance and completion of the program evaluation, will be provided to NABP within 60 days after the activity completion. 


Objectives
  1. Review EPAs that will be used in the experiential setting
  2. Discuss how to use the prospective entrustment scale
  3. Assess student cases and apply the prospective entrustment scale on assigned EPAs
  4. Explain the basic principles behind artificial intelligence and large language models including how they are created and how these affect their key strengths and limitations.
  5. Apply basic prompt engineering strategies to enhance interactions with large language models in practice settings.
  6. . Analyze and evaluate some current applications of large language models in pharmacy practice and how they can assist in creating time to maximize precepting.
  7. Recognize common student behaviors that make feedback conversations difficult, such as excessive justification, low self-awareness, and resistance to constructive criticism.
  8. Utilize best practices and communication techniques to address challenging student interactions while maintaining professionalism and fostering growth.
  9. Develop effective communication strategies to navigate challenging conversations with pharmacy students, promoting growth and professional development.
