National APP Week Grand Rounds

These interactive sessions will explore burnout among advanced practice providers, the neurobiology of stress, and evidence-based mindfulness strategies that support resilience, focus, and clinician well-being. Participants will also learn practical approaches to precepting and mentorship, including fostering psychological safety, providing effective feedback, supporting learner development, and balancing clinical responsibilities with teaching.

ANCC Credit Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.0 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.

AAPA Credit Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 3.0 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

1. Describe the neurobiology of stress and differentiate burnout from routine stress and fatigue, including common risk factors, early warning signs, and effects on clinician well-being and performance.
2. Apply evidence-informed mindfulness, breathwork, and grounding techniques to promote emotional regulation, resilience, focus, and effective decision-making during clinical practice.
3. Apply effective teaching and feedback strategies that foster psychological safety, assess learner performance, address knowledge gaps, and support progression toward clinical independence.
4. Develop practical approaches for balancing patient care with the APP’s role as an educator and mentor, including strategies that support students and new APPs transitioning into clinical practice.

AAPA - American Academy of PAs Category 1 CME (3.00 hours), ANCC - American Nurses Credentialing Center (3.00 hours)

In support of improving patient care, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
