Overview

This week-long medical education program is intended for practicing otolaryngologists, otologists/neurotologists, neurologists/neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and audiologists. It will provide a comprehensive overview of inner ear diseases/ disorders and their treatments. Basic and clinical researchers will present lectures and conduct plenary sessions on clinical ramifications of inner ear pathophysiology, state-of-the-art interventions, inner ear organ culture techniques, hair cell regeneration, inner ear fluid dynamics and their alterations in pathophysiologic disorders, and autoimmune inner ear disease.

AMA Credit Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 20.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ANCC Credit Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 20.5 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.


Objectives
  1. Diagnose and manage the patient with inner ear disorders using the most recent and up-to-date options.
  2. Recognize the most up-to-date diagnostic testing for inner ear and otologic disorders and how to interpret results, to recommend treatment based on those diagnostic findings, and to assess the outcome of those treatments.
  3. Formulate specific techniques for the surgical management of otologic disorders.
