Overview
This live program will provide important education and practice-changing updates through large- and small-group interaction in order to share best-practice strategies that allow these practitioners to improve patient care and improve communication with patients leading to improved patient adherence. In addition, the attendees will have an opportunity to exchange information with expert faculty members, participate in breakout, simulation-based sessions, to critically review available resources, and share real-life case scenarios.

Objectives
  1. Analyze how diabetes burnout affects their patient’s compliance with medications and daily diabetes management.
  2. Develop strategies to use with patients with diabetes to prevent and/or treat burnout.
  3. Discuss how culinary medicine is incorporated into a patient's prevention or diabetes treatment plan.
  4. Discuss the role of opioids for pain management.
  5. Review pain medications and treatment plans for patients with diabetic neuropathy.

Registration

Students/Residents/Fellows - $50.00

Regular Registration (after March 1, 2019)

All Healthcare Professionals - $125.00

Students/Residents/Fellows - $75.00

This invoice may be paid by IDT using the following information:  Fund number 900, cost center 1010852, and G/L number 600001.   **This is only applicable if you are a UAMS department. **

Cancellation/Refund Policy. A handling fee of $25.00 is deducted for cancellations.

Refund requests must be received by mail or fax one week prior to the conference (March 22, 2019).

No refund will be made thereafter.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.50 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)

These knowledge based activities will provide pharmacists up to 11.50 contact hours or 1.150 CEU.  CE credit information, based on verification of live attendance and completion of the program evaluation, will be provided to NABP within 60 days after the activity completion.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.50 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.

Registered Dietitians

This program has been approved for 11.50 contact hours of continuing education for dietitians by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
