Overview
Educational format for webinar attendees to better understand urological issues in older adults, when to refer to physical therapy, what pelvic floor physical therapy consists of and what type of patients are commonly referred to PFPT. The attendees will gain a better understanding of pelvic floor musculature in relationship to PT and what types of neuromuscular retraining occurs dependent on the type of patient diagnosis. We will review updated literature related to compliancy issues with pelvic floor dysfunction.

Objectives
  1. Identify appropriate patients to physical therapy for pelvic floor physical therapy.
  2. Describe how to teach a patient quick flicks for urge UI management and endurance kegel exercise for PFM strengthening program
  3. Describe tips and techniques for urinary urgency management in the home and PFM strengthening for patients with weak pelvic floor muscles
  4. Describe the types of incontinence and available treatment options
  5. Identify potential medication causes of urinary incontinence and best suited options for treatment
  6. Discuss the pelvic floor options for urinary conditions
