Overview
KIDNEYcon is an annual four-day CE conference designed to provide updates on the latest advances in kidney care in a hands-on collaborative format. The 2020 program has four components: 1) a symposium on the management of critically ill patients, with a focus on CRRT; 2) a scientific and clinical didactic conference featuring three sessions on transplant, AKI related to CRRT, and glomerular diseases; 3) six hands-on workshops that simulate realistic practice conditions; and 4) a half/day session dedicated to collaborative research. KIDNEYcon is a platform for nephrologists and medicine trainees to interact with each other and experts from across the nation and learn about and discuss recent advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease, form mentor/mentee relationships, and develop research collaborations. A key component of KIDNEYcon's mission is to build enthusiasm for the field of nephrology among residents and fellows and to encourage research careers in nephrology. Scientific and Clinical Educational Conference The 5th Annual KIDNEYcon will be held at UAMS and the Robinson Center in Little Rock, AR on April 16-19, 2020. The meeting will provide participants with the tools to correctly identify and determine optimal prevention and treatment of patients with acute kidney injury, especially with respect to CRRT, glomerular diseases, and renal transplant, as well as provide strategies to enhance clinical research and enthusiasm for the field of nephrology at all academic levels. The intimate setting of the meeting allows for close interactions in a way that is not possible at large meetings.

Objectives

  3. Describe the pathophysiology of MN and how to utilize new information about evolving mechanisms of the disease.
  4. Explain the kidney allocation process and recent changes to the system.
