Overview

The 2026 CoBALT Advanced training will be given via Zoom on the first day with national speakers talking about their experience in diagnosing autism spectrum disorder in young children. They will also provide information about billing changes in our country that are in progress. The second day will be in person with teams learning how to complete an autism diagnostic interview, testing and providing resources for families. Teams will also get into small groups to design how they will work together to complete these evaluations in their portion of the state

AMA Credit Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ANCC Credit Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.5 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.


Objectives
  1. Participants will be able to name at least three conditions or environmental influences that might confound with an autism spectrum disorder and understand how to ask questions to help differentiate these conditions/influences.
  2. Participants will review how to administer and score an autism specific measure
  3. Participants will be able to delineate the requirements for a child in the state of Arkansas to get a formal autism diagnosis and how to complete paperwork for this to occur.
  4. Participants will be able to list their state and national resources for families and learn how to provide information to families who come to their CoBALT clinics.
