Overview

The agenda includes Jaclyn Albin, MD, CCMS, DipABLM, Associate Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center and many other visiting faculty who are involved in culinary medicine and teaching kitchens throughout Arkansas and Memphis, TN. They will share the "why" and "how" for starting a food as medicine program. 

This conference will be integrating culinary arts in medicine blends the art of food and cooking with the science of medicine. Aimed at helping people reach good personal medical goals for accessing and eating high-quality meals that may contribute to the prevention and treatment of disease and restore well-being. The objective of this conference is to empower the healthcare team with the tools to assist patients to care for themselves safely, effectively, and happily with food and beverage as a primary care technique.


Objectives
  1. discuss the concept of food as medicine.
  2. determine the reasons why healthcare providers should integrate food as medicine into their patient care management.
  3. devise a plan for integrating food as medicine into discussions with patients.
